Description: Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread. If you are anything like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks.
Hello all! A few days ago I announced on Twitter and Instagram that I’ll start doing these posts weekly or bi-weekly. With my school schedule and the amount of work I have now that I’m doing classes online I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep up and type these every week but I will try my best to get out at least two every month. Book reviews will still be going out every week and they’ll either be coming from my NetGalley shelf, from my bookshelf or from authors who’s requestss I’ve accepted. Today I’ll be ‘showcasing’ two or three books that have been sitting on my shelves for a while and haven’t yet been read. I’ll also include their synopsis and where I got them.
Books from the Backlog:
1/3 Last Lesson by James Goodhand:
Last year, Ollie Morcombe was a star pupil, popular and a gifted musician. Then, after the accident, everything changed. Now he’s an outcast, a prime target of the school bullies who have made his life a living hell.
Today – the last day of the school year – he’s brought those bullies a gift. A homemade pipe bomb.
What has driven a model student to plan an unspeakable revenge? And with the clock ticking down to home time, what can anybody do to stop him?
I won this one in a giveaway with Penguin Platform around July last ear and it has been sitting on my shelves ever since. It’s actually one of the first brand new books I’ve ever owned and I might be doing a buddy read for it so I can get it off my TBR. The other two on this list were also won in the same giveaway but I haven’t gotten to reading them yet.
2/3 Foul Is Fair by Hannah Capin:
Jade Khanjara and her three best friends rule their glittering LA circle. They decide how the party ends – every night but one. The night four boys spike Jade’s drink, lock her in a room and brutally attack her. The night they try to ruin her.
But they chose the wrong girl. Certain that the boys will face no consequences, Jade and her friends take vengeance into their own hands. There’s no mercy left: and now Jade won’t rest until she gets bloody satisfaction . . .
If anybody owns this and would like to do a buddy read with my please DM me!
3/3 Are you Watching by Vincent Ralph:
A page-turning new YA thriller for the social media age, perfect for fans of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and One Of Us Is Lying.
Ten years ago, Jess’s mother was murdered by the Magpie Man.
She was the first of his victims but not the last.
Now Jess is the star of a YouTube reality series and she’s using it to catch the killer once and for all. The whole world is watching her every move. And so is the Magpie Man.
That’s all for now. Thank you for sticking around! Have you read any of these? Are they on your TBR too? Would you like to do a buddy read for any of these so we can both get them off the ever growing TBR’s? Send me a Direct Message on Social Media or comment below to let me know!
