IT’S MONDAY, WHAT ARE YOU READING?

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I’m going to be honest and say I completely forgot I was doing these Monday posts and typed it up last minute. I hope you still enjoy it as much as the thought out ones! Over the weekend, if you’ve been keeping up with me on Goodreads, I’ve finally finished Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix. I’ve started on The Half-Blood prince and I’m on page 174. I’ve enjoyed these books so much over the past couple weeks and they completely live up to the “books are always better than movies” saying. The books have so many more explanations and there are so many scenes that have happened differently in the movies. For example: When Draco broke Harry’s nose on The Hogwarts Express Tonks was the one to save him, not Luna. If you haven’t read the book yet, there’s a minor spoiler but it doesn’t really affect the story, up to page 174.

What have you guys been up to lately? Have you done anything interesting these past weeks? What activities have you taken up to cure your boredom? I’ve been signing up and taking part ina bunch of book tours from TheWrite Reads on Twitter and was just accepted into their bogger gang where I can support and be supported by a group of other book bloggers like myself! I’ve only joined recently but I love the community they have and how diverse the whole thing is! I’m really enjoying being part of the bookstagram community, even though I joined just a few months ago. If you’ve read up to here, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to read about what this crazy bookloving teen is up to. If you enjoyed this and would like to see more, feel free to subscribe so you never miss a post! If you ever need to talk or just rant about random stuff, send me a message on social media! And if you have any questions about anything you think I’d have the answer to, comment below and I’ll get back to you soon! That’s all for today my loves! “See” you next Monday, same time, same place! P.S. I’m accepting all friend requests on Goodreads and following everyone back on social media!

What I’ve been up to:
Currently Reading:

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)

The war against Voldemort is not going well; even Muggle governments are noticing. Ron scans the obituary pages of the Daily Prophet, looking for familiar names. Dumbledore is absent from Hogwarts for long stretches of time, and the Order of the Phoenix has already suffered losses.

And yet . . .

As in all wars, life goes on. The Weasley twins expand their business. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate – and lose a few eyebrows in the process. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Classes are never straightforward, through Harry receives some extraordinary help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.

So it’s the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter. Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complete story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort – and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability.

Recently Completed:

Sol Invictus (The Eye of Ra #2)

My Review:

John and Sarah Tidewell are back for another adventure through time in this second installment in the Eye of Ra series. Shortly after their journey to Ancient Egypt, the Tidewell family packed their things and moved from Colorado to Maryland, a transition that was somewhat rocky, at first. One muggy summer day, the family ventures to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. to investigate an exhibit about the Ancient Roman Empire. In the midst of an unexpected fire drill, John and Sarah become separated from their parents and meet Aten, a grave robber from their previous adventure. Several cryptic comments and a frightening situation later, John and Sarah find themselves in the middle of an active, Ancient Roman arena.

The siblings must rely on a new friend, Crocus, to help keep them safe while they complete a quest apparently set upon them by the gods—because they cannot return home until they do. I was so excited to read this second book in the Eye of Ra series and was not disappointed! It’s a thrilling ride from start to finish as the brother and sister MCs travel back in time again, this time to ancient Rome where they have to accomplish a seemingly impossible task or be stuck in time. With tons of action, humor, excellent character development, and historical details that will make you feel like you’ve been swept back in time too, this is sure to be a winner for middle grade readers…(more)

Thank You for reading! If you have any feedback or comments please leave them down below! I’m looking forward to hearing(reading) what you guys think about these posts!

  1. I’m rereading (well, technically listening) to all the Harry Potter books as well. I am just about to start Goblet of Fire. I’m also rereading A Court of Thorns and Roses in anticipation of the new book next week so very chilled out reading for me at the moment, nothing new which is really unlike me!

    1. I’m not reading too much new stuff either, I promised myself I’d read the HP books at least once before I completely forgot so that’s what I’m up to. Since I’m almost to the last one though, I’ll be checking out some of my NetGalley Books to see if there’s anything interesting!
